What Are You Willing To Give Up For Your Success
Every week day morning I wake up at around 5:45am, get my stuff together, wash up and head to the gym. Kick my own ass for about an hour and then it’s off to the office at the family business. I put in my hours (most of the time, it’s 9-10hrs). After work, either my wife or I pick up our two little boys and head home. It’s usually about 6:00 or so when we finally walk through the door and start making dinner. I am sure you can relate…cooking, eating and cleaning is about 2 hours. We get the kids to the bath, read a book and it’s off to bed for them. How does that day sound to you? Maybe it sounds oh too familiar! For those who don’t think they have time, I highly recommend reading this http://stevekrivda.com/time-management
Here’s my question for you “What are you willing to give up to be successful?”
Maybe the word you are looking for is Sacrifice. I am not talking about crazy drastic stuff like quitting your job nor would I suggest that. But think about your life, in the long term, for a minute. What I am talking about here is “Delayed Gratification”. Delayed gratification means, you are going to have Gratification for the things you do now. Most people want results right now, hence the reason why there is such a quit rate in network marketing. They aren’t willing to roll up their sleeves and make things happen. If nothing happens (without working it) in a month or two, they quit. Most think that they will just join a business and people will COMMA RUNNIN.
Go back to sacrifice. What are the things that you do now, in the middle of all the “Stuff” I mentioned above? A 9:00pm, after the boys have been put to bed, I bring out my laptop and start on my Network Marketing Business.
I put away the “Oh, I will do it tomorrow” excuse and get dirty LOL. WE all face that word, procrastination. You know how you will convince yourself that you will do something on Monday, or after the Holidays, or “TOMORROW”. All you are doing is putting your success off by that much more time.
Here is a short list of sacrifices I have made for my success:
I pretty much stopped watching TV(most of it’s junk anyway)
And Yes, even some family fun time
You see, I get it. I get what it takes to be successful. I understand that by putting in the time now will reward me with all the time in the world in just a short amount of time. That’s called Delayed Gratification. Delaying the immediate for a lifetime of Gratification.
It’s all about mindset. You have to want to be successful. Your why and want has to be strong enough to sacrifice the “Fun” stuff right now for a lifetime of greatness. Think about waking up in the morning and chillin in bed for an hour before you get up. Think about going fishing on a Tuesday. Think about having breakfast with your son(s) or daughter(s) every morning. Think about being there to pick them up from school. These are all “Things” that are possible if you just Take Action and make a difference in your life and decide “I am willing to give up some of the immediate fun things in my life, in order to live a life of abundance”
SAY IT!!! “I am willing to give up some of the immediate fun things in my life, in order to live a life of abundance”
Now, what are YOU willing to give up for your GREATNESS?
