The Information Overload in Network Marketing Today

I don’t know if you have noticed lately but there sure has been  a lot of NEW LAUNCHES lately. Pretty crazy right? Everywhere you look, there’s a launch, webinar, e-book, new products, etc…

Hype: You will notice that you are being pitched the “Next Best Thing”. Isn’t that whole reason for coming up with a new product, that it’s going to revolutionalize the industry?

So, how on Earth do you avoid the Information Overload Highway? I think the writings below will help.


Have a Plan: Just like any business you would be running, you must have a plan of attack. Your beginning, you goal and how you are going to get there. I suggest writing it down and having the sheet somewhere you can see it. This will keep you focused on the path you have chosen. Being focused and consistent is the only way to get to that final goal.

Will Power: Have some will power for crying out loud. I know some subject lines look cool and they are tempting to click on but you really don’t have to know about every product out there. I figure I get around 20 emails a day of people pitching me. If I spent only 5 minute each, which is very conservative, it would have taken 100 minutes from money producing activities. That’s just crazy. Remember tip #1 and you final goal.


Be Specific and Know Why: Know why you are clicking the link, attending the webinar or even purchasing a product. If you are looking to spend some of you valuable time with a product you better have a specific reason for doing so. It’s easy to get caught up in a buying frenzy, I have seen, it’s crazy LOL. You should come away with specific knowledge on how you are going to improve your current business, so you can take it to the next level.

Here’s an example. There are tons of webinars going on all the time. It might not be a good idea to jump on one that is touting “Make a $1,000 per day, we’ll show you how”. You already have a business, this is going to trip you up and bring doubt to your own business. A better thing to attend or consider purchasing would be “Simple ways to increase leads and signups in your network marketing company”

See the difference? That is specific and telling you what it is and you can make a justifiable decision whether or not you want to spend your valuable time or money.

In summary:

Have a plan, keep it where you can see it and stick to it.

Use whatever technique you need to use to increase your will power. Stay away from hype and refer to your plan.

Before you even come close to clicking on a link or webinar, have a specific reason and goal in mind for doing so.


I hope this helps, keeps you a little more focused and away from the information overload that we face in network marketing today.
