Network marketing advertising costs money yes, but how else are you going to get a business network going, or promote a product without it?
A lot of network marketers fail to understand this at the beginning and miss many opportunities to make a significant income.
Advertising is an investment and the means of advertising should be selected sensibly and monitored for its effectiveness. I’s pretty easy to lose a lot of money with ineffective advertising!
Just like any bricks and mortar business, network marketing advertising is essential to success, and on the web, it’s sometimes difficult to make the right, knowing that there are millions of websites, many billions of adverts for products and, unless you have got a product that is absolutely unique, lots of competition with more money than you.
The first thing you have to do is figure out your budget for advertising, set aside a specific amount each month, and be realistic; when you find the most profitable mode of advertising for your business, you can then raise your monthly budget.
Most people that are new to network marketing only have little budgets, but the good news is there are lots of alternative ways to publicize for free on the Internet, some are useful and some are downright pointless, keep experimenting and find what does it for you. Advertising your products in the wrong place may very well cause more bad than good to your business.
Network marketing advertising should bring you the following:
1. Fresh leads
2. New eyes on your product or service
3. Brand recognition.
4. A way to effectively close sales
The best free advertising is natural recommendations or referrals, so creating a buzz about your product is dependent on you.
Blogs, forums and social networking sites are excellent places for gaining exposure for your company but although that strategy is free, it must be done with integrity and constantly.
Don’t expect to go on Twitter and make 1 or 2 posts exclaiming your brand is the best, or buy one of those, because you’ll be un-Tweeted and ignored.
Nor should you post on Twitter every minute or two ; you must build a following before even mentioning what you are offering. You would not do it at a cocktail party, so don’t do it on social media sites, blogs or forums either.
Referrals are excellent free ways to get business too, but you should never rely on the same people to offer you referrals without any social interaction, and this applies online or off-line. Form a relationship with that person first. Leads are intensely valuable, they are as good as cash, and nobody is going to reach into their pocket and hand you a wad of cash without expecting at least something in exchange.
Direct contact campaigns are pretty old school nowadays, but still work fine. If you’re a local bricks and mortar service or business, then direct mail is extremely effective.
What a large amount of small business owners don’t get though, is list building; plenty of info can be gathered from direct mailing, though it’s got a terribly poor response rate and is costly.
Still, if you can get people to return a card, or leave an email address when they come into your shop, you can make a list and use that list for future e-mail marketing campaigns, and if you give people an inducement to join up like offering a free drink with a pizza for instance, you’ll be astonished the amount of people that will you give their emails and you can reward them with vouchers and offers in the future campaigns.
It is difficult to run a useful network marketing advertising campaign if you actually don’t understand how it all works. There’s an enormous amount of psychology behind selling effectively and if you don’t understand the fundamentals of network marketing now is a very good time to learn.
