I’m sure you’ve seen a lot about coaching lately. It may even feel that everyone’s a coach these days. We’ll get into what to look for if you’re considering a coach a little later. In the meantime, let’s see if a marketing coach is necessary for you.

If you have stumbled across this, there’s a chance that you are looking to move whatever you’re doing to a new realm. Maybe you’re stuck, having a hard time staying accountable or looking to create a product. Or maybe you’re just tired of being in the same place you have been.

A true coach will see greatness in you, when you don’t. They can see your potential through the voices that have been going through your head.

Balance The Voices:
Have you ever beat yourself up over not getting the results you expected? This is a pretty common occurrence. We’re taught to see what we’ve done wrong from an early age. Most of the time, it’s from school. “You didn’t get an ‘A'” so all of a sudden you’re an under achiever. Or You raised your hand, got the answer wrong and youImage result for Balance could see the ridicule from your fellow class mates. You know, the ones who didn’t have the guts to raise their hands!

These sorts of examples, can stifle a person’s will to step up and outside their comfort zone. Sometimes a coach isn’t there for you to learn the newest social media strategy. They are there to lift you up when you’ve fallen. To point out the qualities in you that you might not see.

Direction:
Another thing a marketing coach would do is to steer you in the direction that will keep you most profitable. Tweaking your current strategy to reduce the time you may be spending on certain tasks. Better yet, show you have to be a bigger and better you. Think about how many conversations you’ve had over the last 3-5 weeks with prospects. How’s your closing rate, 10%? Maybe you’re decent and close 15%-20%. Fine tuning your skills could increase that to 25%-40%. What would double your current enrollment do for you?

Imagine being the most powerful you. 10-20 times more powerful than what you are now! Most can’t see that in themselves. Having someone to remind of that power is crucial.

Accountability:
It’s important to have someone in your life, to hold you accountable. In my opinion, it’s one of the most important aspects of being and entrepreneur. If you’re not doing the work, you won’t get the results… Simple as that. A good coach will recognize how each individual needs to be accountable. Everyone is different and it’s a coaches job to realize this and implement the right skills to keep you in action.

If any of the above sounds like something you might be lacking in your business plan, maybe it’s time to consider a coach. Very informative post, Steve. I’m sure that’s a question that rattles around in a lot of marketers’ minds — do I need a coach — can I benefit from a coach? You’ve been precise in your answer.

    Hi Steve,

I have asked myself that Question and The answer has been a resounding Yes. The Question most people would be asking is Howe to Find the right coach/mentor! What criteria to use. You have given me a very clear Why one needs a coach for sure.
Sometime back I used to wonder in our Industry why a coach’s CV needs to be different from say a professor in Uni or College. Then I learnt that a business coach will usually teach you things a university professor would know nothing about or even argue against Lol! Yet they do create results. And a businesss coahc needs to be either in the trenches with you or have been there and knows the drill…And You are sdefinitely such a Coach Steve.

And Yes you have served me today 🙂 Thank You
