You are looking to take your business to that higher level but not real sure how, yes? I want to tell you that you are not alone and the answer is easy. Most marketers will focus their energy on lack of results, lack of knowledge and minimal experience.
Daily Mode of Operation:
In a recent article I wrote about a daily mode of operation. You can dig into the details here. The reason to have a good DMO is to keep you on task. Especially on the days that you are having that doubt in yourself. One of my favorite quote from my friend Ray Higdon goes like this “The ability to say woe is me, shows the abundance of inactivity” In other words, as long as you are in motion, results will happen.
Setting a Schedule:
Having a good DMO is useless if you aren’t scheduling when you are going to be doing your marketing. Whether it’s Monday-Thursday from 9-11 or every night at 8:30pm till you finish you tasks, you must set scheduled time. In the beginning this is crucial, at least until you are settled in your routine.
At first, posting on Facebook is cool. Posting positive quote, tidbits of information about marketing, reposting others’ content, etc… People won’t want to interact with you if you are boring, negative or boring. Make yourself known to others. If you have a website or YouTube account, it’s a good idea to put out some sort of 3-4 minute video or 300-500 article out every 1-3 days. They will add up and bring a tremendous amount of value to your campaign.
Talk to People:
Set an amount of people you want to talk to each day. Whether it’s to start a conversation, present your company or send a presentation be consistent and keep a list of people as you talk to them. Keeping a list will stop you from talking to the same person twice. Don’t laugh, it happens, especially when you are talking to 40-80 people a week. Having a lot of conversations going at one time will give you a high level of confidence since you will always have back up leads. You will also start enrolling people…this is about the numbers.
The Follow Up:
Following up with people is where most people fall down. I can tell you that I had a call back today on my third call back and in using the take away. Calls happen on the original scheduled call back, 24 hours later and 48 hours later. The take away happens on the third call. I say some variation of this “Hey name, we had an appt back on Monday at 5 and I haven’t heard from you. I hope all is okay on your end. I am going to go ahead and take you off of my call list. I wish you luck in the future and if you ever need anything, you can call me at 239-370-7902”
Taking away the opportunity. Anyway, the guy called me back and we made another appt.
Asking For The Sale:
Most people are afraid to ask another person to enroll. I understand that, it’s the moment of truth and where the anxiety kicks up…so, you don’t ask and wait for the person to initiate that part of the conversation. There are some pretty cool ways to ask someone for the sale. “Are you ready to get started” “Sounds like you are ready to get started” “Let’s lock arms and get you going” “You doin this”
Make It Fun:
Most people go into a marketing venture but find that it’s hard. I would like to confess that I have been there before. This is not hard unless you make it hard. This is a game and how you win is by hitting your goals. So, you set realistic short goals and go after them and crush them. Once it’s not a game and fun anymore, then get a hold of me and we’ll make it fun again.
