If you’re like most people, you have goals and expectations for where you want you life to be in a specific time limit. We can narrow that number down a little more to include those that write down their goals and actually set a time limit on them. We can then, narrow down the number again to those who take action. The “Action” step to this equation is where most stumble. Why?
Think about what you’ve done in the last 7 days to move towards your goal. At first, it might seem pretty impressive, especially if you haven’t done anything to this point. You may have set the plan in motion and even created some results.
The question that rattles most people – Did you do everything possible to move towards that goal? If you said “No”, that’s okay, you’re not alone. Most people, when looking back on the week, have a busy schedule and look forward to some time to unwind, spend time with the family or spouse.
This is where the “One Thing” comes in. Are you goals important enough to put everything else aside and focus.
This does not mean that you neglect any part of your life. It means to have a plan in place to be sure all areas are taken care of. Sometimes, it means that the family pitches in, a baby sitter comes into play, moving around your sleep pattern or cutting out something that is time consuming…for most it the TV.
