Get Over Fear of Facebook Live

No More Fear of Doing Facebook Live Video
Facebook live video

Doesn’t it seem that everyone is doing Facebook Live? Isn’t that the way it goes? It’s the “Blue Car” syndrome. You start looking at or researching new cars and the next thing you know, they’re everywhere you look. In reality, it’s just a handful of people doing these videos, you’re just seeing them more because you have become aware. I bring this up for one reason, Most Will Use this as an excuse to NOT do something. It’s the “Everyone else is doing it already” trap.

I don’t if you fall into that category, if you do, it’s time to move on and get ready to put some Facebook Live Videos together. If that’s not you and you tremble at the thought of doing anything live, it’s time to move on and get ready to put some Facebook Live Videos together. I know, I wrote it twice.

There are several reasons people give to stay away from live videos. They boil down to one thing… I don’t want people to judge me. It’s a legit concern, there are no do overs when you’re live and that can be scary. Today, we’re going to address this.
You want it to be perfect, you want it to go smooth, what if the dog comes in or someone interrupts me… OMG!! What if I burp or fart? HaHa, that’s too funny. I needed to get a smile out of you. Let’s get into this.

I realize that we all have some sort of image we want to uphold. Hear this loud and clear, the more real you are, the more people will love you. That being said, You need to know your stuff. Most will hold themselves back because of “Content Ideas”. In the beginning you just need to get a Live done.

This isn’t about you, it’s about your audience. You won’t impact anyone if you don’t do it. Speak on a topic that you are comfortable with. It almost doesn’t matter. If you speak on what you know and get stuck on where you’re going in your video, you’ll easily pick up somewhere else on the topic. If you’re still freaking out, practice. You may feel like you suck in the beginning, that’s just you.

Nervous/Fear – Natural/Normal
If we are using a fear to halt this action, it’s typically from putting our own ego first. This might sound harsh, hear me out. When we are afraid of putting ourselves out Image result for Nervousin the public’s eye, we are concerned about how we ‘look’. This is put above how we could Impact someone’s life .

We can use this energy as a paralyzing for or use it as An Energy Source to Serve. Your Want To Serve and Create Value must be bigger than your fear. Where would you be if someone didn’t step up in their life? You are the answer to someone’s prayers.

How To Do It
Create bullet points to follow and have them somewhere you can see them. They’ll keep you on time, keep you from wandering and increase your confidence as you get ready to start.

Create the “Copy-Writing” for your post to go on Facebook, prior to getting ready to Go Live. Anxiety at the go time will cloud your creative juices and you’ll put the Facebook Live Session off for “Later”. Once you have your bullet points together, your title together, you’ll be ready.

Peak State
This sounds cooler that is looks. Set a time for your Live session, set up your bullet points, press Live on your smart phone, put your “Copy-Writing” on your post…Take Image result for Peak StateThree Powerful Deep Breathes and shout “Boom” and press Go. You’ll be in it.

Time will go by so fast, you won’t even know what happened. Ignore the comments in the beginning so you can stay on task. Boyaa, you did it. Your first is the hardest to get through…After you’re finished, I guarantee, you’ll feel awesome.

Fear of Speaking = Improper Purpose of Focus. Because Speaking is Serving. It’s about your impact on Your Audience.

Great post. This is almost how I did my first Facebook live. And I agree, we have to kill that perfectionist spirit. Thanks for sharing.

What helps me the most when doing a Live session is to look at myself on the screen and pretend that I am talking to myself in the mirror. If I am feeling like I am having a conversation with myself, many of my inhibitions are gone. I feel free-er to do outlandish things if I am just talking to myself. Don’t get me wrong…..I have the needs of my audience in mind, but I am concentrating on delivering my message to the face in the display.

May not be for everybody, but it helps me to get over the ‘live” fear.
