Attitude of Gratitude | MLM Success
About a year and a half ago, I was going up to an event in Orlando. It was about a 3 hour drive from Naples, where I currently live. I really didn’t want to go and spend the time away from my family and surely didn’t want to drive up there by myself. I didn’t really know anyone that was going to be at the event but I won a ticket so, I went. On the way up, I popped in an audio that I picked up from my buddy Ray. It was about looking inside yourself and seeing what is up with you LOL. Since I had a bunch of time on my hands, I decided to… take a listen.
The Attitude of Gratitude
One of the main things that stuck out the most to me was understanding what I am grateful for. I know, it sounds really simple right? Well, check it out. We have a tendency to watch others have success and wonder why they are having success and we aren’t. Why am I working my butt off and everyone else is having success but I am not? It starts as a small thought and grows into a festering crop of garbage in our mind that will take over to the point where you quit and become a statistic. There are so many things that are around us that affect the way we are…news, negative co-workers, nay sayers, media, etc… We forget the great things around us.
The Attitude of Gratitude Changes That
When you are affected by the negative things around you, you don’t want to do anything, let alone network with people. You see, once you start changing the way you think about success, things change. Change from the “I don’t have” to “This is what I DO have”. Understand the things in you are grateful for. How do you get an Attitude of Gratitude
This is what I recommend. Go the old fashioned way and get a pen and paper out and write down 10 things that you are grateful for. Some people have a hard time with this so, take your time. I like to walk outside in the morning and take a huge breathe in and think about how awesome that is. For some, it’s just getting out of bed in the morning, for some it’s about looking over at a significant other and for some it’s not seeing that significant other LOL. That’s the start, making a list. Before you get going in the morning read that list. It literally takes 30 seconds.
Using your Attitude of Gratitude for Coolness
This is an interesting one. We all have those moments where we are overwhelmed with sadness/negativity or we are beaten down by a co-worker, friend or family member. We start getting that “Inner Madness” that we talked about earlier. Here’s what you do…that list that you say every morning is about to come in handy. Start reciting it, in your head or out loud. It’s pretty cool because our mind will only let one emotion in at once.
