Most business owners know how to get a few people into their business, no matter what it is. Growing past that 5-10 seems like a battle that just can’t be won. I am here to say that the number one thing you can do to build a bigger business…KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING. Keep building, you will inspire your team. They will do what you are doing, so lead them to greatness. Now, where most people freak out is in the training the new people. That’s where this article where help you.
Talking to more people, outside your warm market.
I have to laugh a little at this one, as we never really run out of warm market. It’s more like, we have the “I’m never going to call that person” list. I recently wrote an article on Meetup.com and how to Get Free Leads and the correct way about getting others information and follow up. They are fun and you can go directly to your niche, whether it’s weight lost, make-up, travel or what have you. The point here is, there’s something like 8 billion people on the planet, you’re bound to find a few in your local area. You just have to talk to people.
Saying less to more people.
I gotta tell you, this is where I fell most of the time…flat on my face 😎 I would be having a conversation with someone and “The Business” would come. That would be it, watch out for the 30 minute face to face presentation. I don’t know about you but, I would just keep talking until I realized that I didn’t know where I was in the story. And my prospect had a face like I was describing my morning Poo. There’s an easy way to get passed this. Be in a hurry. If you don’t know how to do this, then preface the conversation with “Hey, I only have a minute but I want to run something passed you. Let me know when you have about 10-15 minutes” Set the appointment and then let the tools your company has provided for you, do the rest.
When I mention the phrase “Be Postured” in your conversation, you might think that I mean to be domineering. That’s not where I am going with this. Don’t be mousy with you conversation. Be confident in yourself and what you are doing. Here’s an example: Think of something that you are good at…Could be cooking, soccer, karate, typing, computers, etc… whatever it is, something that you have a passion for. Think about how you are when showing someone that thing. Yes, that’s posture. The objections will be less and you will handle them much better. All time favorite response to someone asking a question about your business “Will the answer to this question be the answer you need to know to get started today”
I’ll be the first to admit, this was not my strong suit. Once I figured it out and how to do it, my enrollments increased and so did my confidence. First and foremost, you should have created and appointment with the person. If not, no big deal, we’ll get that on the next go around. When following up with a prospect, never ever ever ever ask them “How They Feel” or “What They Thought” of the presentation. You are setting yourself up for doom LOL. I like to start off with “Pretty awesome, right” and then follow up with “What Did You Like Best About What You Saw”. Even if they come back with “I have some questions” I divert to question at hand. A lot of the time, ask what they liked best will trump their questions. Honestly and most of the time, their questions are there to poke holes in your game.
When leaving a message, you won’t have to go into a long message. They know who you are and why you are calling. Leave a brief message for them to call you back. Sometimes I like to remind them of the appointment we had but, that’s about it.
Training your new representative.
Honestly, where did you get your training and what were you told to do? There are all kinds of ways to get your reps trained up in the right way, if you don’t know how to do it, get with your upline. Get them plugged in straight away, local events, online meetings, big corporate events, etc… Your new team member will follow you and what you are doing. So lead the way and keep talking to people. You rock!!
